FOR ROBOT MANUFACTURERS, INTEGRATORS & AUTOMATED WAREHOUSES

Industrial lubricants for robotics and automation plants.

The robot has its own lubricant spec. The plant around it needs lubricants too: synthetic compressor oil, hydraulic oil, and bearing grease for the compressors, hydraulic systems, conveyors, bearings, and vehicles that keep robot manufacturing, system integration, and automated distribution running. Product guidance from Jeff Pittman, Independent AMSOIL Dealer #30734402.

Plant lubricants to compare

Robot reducer grease: start with the robot maker’s list.

Robot joints commonly use strain-wave (harmonic), cycloidal (RV), or planetary reducers, and many newer actuators are sealed at the factory. The robot or reducer manufacturer specifies the lubricant, quantity, and replacement interval for those components, and warranty coverage can depend on following it. Use the manufacturer’s maintenance manual for that work, whether the robot is an industrial arm, a collaborative robot, or the drive unit of an AMR or AGV.

A1 Synthetic Oil does not recommend AMSOIL products as substitutes for a specified robot reducer or actuator lubricant.

Then build a plant lubrication program for everything else.

The equipment that builds, tests, and moves robots has its own service requirements: shop air, hydraulic presses and lifts, conveyor bearings, gearmotors, forklifts, and service vehicles. Match each one to its manual first, then compare the AMSOIL products below. Jeff is based in Newport, Washington, north of Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, and works with businesses across the United States and Canada.

How robot reducer lubrication is specified ↗

Match the equipment, then the product.

Rotary screw and piston air compressors

Match the compressor type, ISO viscosity grade, and the complete lubricant specification in the compressor manual. An engine oil with a familiar grade is not a compressor-oil substitute.

Hydraulic presses, injection molding, and lifts

Match the ISO grade and whether the equipment builder calls for an anti-wear or multi-viscosity fluid. Check seal compatibility and the fluid already in the reservoir before changing products.

All hydraulic fluids ↗

Conveyor bearings, gearmotors, and gearboxes

Match the NLGI consistency grade, thickener type, and base-oil viscosity the bearing or gearbox maker specifies. Greases with different thickeners may not be compatible. Where incidental food contact is possible, confirm the registration your facility requires on the current product data.

Industrial oil analysis and hydraulic filtration

A used-fluid sample shows wear metals, contamination, and fluid condition. Confirm the kit covers the fluid type you are sampling, and match hydraulic filters by part number.

Forklifts, yard trucks, and service vehicles

Automated warehouses still run forklifts and service vehicles alongside their mobile robots. AMR and AGV fleet maintenance follows the robot maker’s schedule; for the vehicles, start with the vehicle lookup and the equipment manual. Engine, transmission, and hydraulic compartments can each require a different fluid.

Start with one sample.

Pick one compressor or one hydraulic unit with a known service history. Pull a used-fluid sample following the kit instructions, send it to the lab, and review the wear, contamination, and fluid-condition results alongside your maintenance records. The results describe that machine’s current fluid; they are a starting point for a maintenance conversation, not a product recommendation.

How purchasing works with an AMSOIL commercial account.

A commercial account is for businesses using AMSOIL products in their own equipment. The account is opened with AMSOIL, which sets current pricing, volume terms, ordering, and shipping. Jeff Pittman is your independent dealer contact for product questions. Ask for current terms before planning a large or recurring order.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use AMSOIL grease in my robot’s gear reducers?

Use the lubricant specified by the robot or reducer manufacturer, in the quantity and at the interval in its maintenance manual. A1 Synthetic Oil does not recommend AMSOIL products as substitutes for a specified robot reducer or actuator lubricant.

Which equipment in a robotics plant can use AMSOIL products?

Start with equipment whose manual lists a lubricant type and grade that a current AMSOIL product matches, such as air compressors, hydraulic systems, conveyor bearings, gearmotors, and plant vehicles. Confirm each match against the equipment documentation.

Is A1 Synthetic Oil an industrial lubricant supplier?

A1 Synthetic Oil is an independent AMSOIL dealer, not a distributor holding inventory. Businesses buy synthetic industrial lubricants directly from AMSOIL through a commercial account, with Jeff Pittman as the dealer contact for facilities in Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, the Inland Northwest, and across the United States and Canada.

Who sets pricing and delivery for a commercial account?

AMSOIL. A commercial account is opened with AMSOIL, which sets current pricing, volume terms, ordering, and shipping. Jeff Pittman is your independent dealer contact.
