Glycol chillers and refrigeration compressors use oils specified for the refrigerant, and food-contact hydraulic or gear oils need their own registration. This catalog carries food-grade grease but not refrigeration oil or food-grade oils; source those to the equipment maker’s specification.
Food-safety plans and audits
Your food-safety plan decides where food-grade lubricants are required and how they are labeled and stored. Keep food-grade and standard lubricants in separate, marked containers and grease guns.
Products by equipment.
Confirm the lubricant type, grade, and specifications in each equipment manual before ordering.
Packaging lines and grain handling
Canning and bottling lines, keg washers, and grain mills have bearings and chains with maker-listed lubricants. Where product contact is possible, use the registration your food-safety plan requires.
Plant air drives packaging and pneumatic valves. Match the compressor maker’s oil type and ISO grade, and follow any air-quality requirements for product-contact air.

Frequently asked questions
Do brewery packaging lines need food-grade grease?
Where incidental contact with product or packaging is possible, use the registration your food-safety plan requires, such as NSF H1, and confirm it on the current product data.
What oil goes in a brewery air compressor?
The oil type and ISO grade the compressor maker lists. Rotary screw and reciprocating compressors often call for different oils.
