The chart lists every compartment, fluid, capacity, and interval. Laminate a copy in each machine and stock fluids by compartment, not by machine brand alone.
Control contamination on the job site
Dust and water are the most common causes of fluid trouble. Keep containers sealed, use clean transfer equipment, and sample hydraulic and engine oil on a schedule.
Products by equipment.
Confirm the lubricant type, grade, and specifications in each equipment manual before ordering.
Diesel engines
Match the engine maker’s API category, viscosity, and approvals, including any Tier 4 emissions-system requirements.
Excavators and loaders list a hydraulic fluid type and ISO grade, sometimes by ambient temperature range. Keep the fluid clean and match the filter part number.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use engine oil in a powershift transmission?
Only if the transmission maker specifies it. Many powershift systems require a dedicated fluid standard such as TO-4.
Should hydraulic grade change with the season?
Some machine manuals list different grades by ambient temperature. Follow the manual; a multi-viscosity fluid may cover the range where permitted.
