Products for foundries

Fire-resistant hydraulic fluid is not in this catalog

Hydraulic systems near molten metal, such as die casting machines and some furnace equipment, often require a fire-resistant fluid by the maker’s or insurer’s rules. This catalog does not carry fire-resistant hydraulic fluids; never substitute a mineral or synthetic hydraulic oil where one is required.

Heat and dust shorten grease life

Bearings near furnaces and shakeouts run hot and dirty. Use the high-temperature grease the bearing maker lists, and shorten intervals where the maker’s severe-service guidance applies.

Products by equipment.

Confirm the lubricant type, grade, and specifications in each equipment manual before ordering.

Sand systems and shakeouts

Mullers, shakeouts, and sand conveyors see heavy shock loads and abrasive dust. Follow the maker’s grease type and interval, and keep fittings clean.

Plant air

Foundries run large compressors for molding and cleaning; match the compressor maker’s oil type and grade.

Forklifts and loaders

Ladle-handling forklifts, loaders, and skid steers follow their engine, transmission, and hydraulic makers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use standard hydraulic oil in a die casting machine?

Only if the machine maker and your insurer allow it. Many require a fire-resistant fluid near molten metal; this catalog does not carry one.

What grease suits shakeout bearings?

The grease type and grade the shakeout or bearing maker lists for shock load and temperature.
