Down-the-hole hammers use a rock drill oil, and drill pipe uses thread compound. This catalog does not carry either; use the hammer and pipe makers’ products.
Protecting the aquifer
Drillers work directly over drinking water. Follow your state’s well construction rules on fluids, and use spill containment at the rig. Where a biodegradable hydraulic fluid is required, confirm it meets the requirement and the rig maker’s specification.
Products by equipment.
Confirm the lubricant type, grade, and specifications in each equipment manual before ordering.
Rig hydraulics and rotary heads
Top-head drives, pullback, and mast cylinders run on the rig’s hydraulic oil; match the rig maker’s grade.
