Year → make → model → engine
1. Select the model year
Use the vehicle’s model year, which may differ from its purchase or registration year. Check the vehicle documents if uncertain. Have the VIN available for a dealer or technician to resolve production details.
2. Select the make
Choose the vehicle manufacturer in the official AMSOIL lookup. Use the separate motorcycle or equipment lookup when servicing something other than a car or light truck.
3. Select the exact model
Match the model and any configuration requested by the lookup. Record the transmission and drivetrain where relevant; similar model names can have different component requirements.
4. Confirm the engine
Match displacement, fuel type, and engine designation. Do not pick the closest-looking option when yours is missing. If the engine was replaced or modified, confirm what is installed and follow the applicable manufacturer or engine-builder guidance.
5. Choose the component being serviced
Select engine, transmission, front axle, rear axle, or transfer case as appropriate. Each compartment can require a different fluid, specification, and quantity. An engine-oil result is not a recommendation for the rest of the drivetrain.
6. Compare the result with the service information
Write down the viscosity, required specification or approval, service-fill quantity with filter, filter part number, and any application notes. Distinguish a supplier’s recommended application from a formal manufacturer approval if that approval is required. Use the prescribed final level-check procedure; a dry capacity is not necessarily an oil-change fill.
7. Build the order and maintenance record
Search our catalog by the confirmed code, choose the correct package size, and review the current AMSOIL product information before checkout. Record the oil and filter limits with the vehicle’s next due date and mileage. If details conflict, resolve the discrepancy with the manufacturer or AMSOIL technical support before ordering.
Need help matching the result?
Send Jeff the year, make, model, engine, component, required specification, and candidate product code. A1 Synthetic Oil provides product guidance; the official lookup and manufacturer service documentation establish the application details.
Check the recommendations against your manufacturer’s service documentation. VIN and license-plate lookup may require an AMSOIL login.
